Sveriges Skomakarmästarförbunds Kongress in Malmö.

From 21st till 22nd of April 2007, Jos America's sales force was on the run to take part at the Sveriges Skomakarmästarförbunds Kongress in Malmö Sweden. Beautiful weather brought many to Malmö. On the Jos America stand, the newest workshop equipment and latest technology were shown. All machineries and equipement were developed and produced in-house. In sweden, as in many countries, many shoemakers work with equipment from the late 70-ies and 80-ies. Although good music was created in those decades, most of the machinery is to old to serve the operater well and to offer a healthy job. Because of that, a wave of new investments in shoe repair shops is expected. If you invest in the future, you want to improve of course! So, if you have any serious plans, the Jos America crew is happy to visit you in your shop. And thanks to low budget airliners, it is easy to visit the factory in the Netherlands, allowing you also to have a well deserved weekend visiting Amsterdam, for example. From a computer drawing you are exactly aware on how your new equipment will look after the installation. we will create your own personal FLEXAM, so it will fit perfectly to your needs and working order. On the Jos America stand Fabio Wittens, Tim de Groot, Lars Fransson and Caspar America were available to inform you. During the evening, all four visited the after party. Fabio, Tim, lars and Caspar were impressed by the skills and the enthousiasm of the Swedish shoemakers. A really open and relaxed athmosphere welcomed us, fantastic! Many younger and older shoemakers compete a fair play to become the best Swedish shoemaker. The trophy is handed every 2 years to the best shoemaker, normally called "Peter", but this time, the honour was given to Marcus Davidsons from Uppsala. This competion forces all to a new high level. It was really fine to have the honour to be invited by the Sveriges Skomakarmästarförbund to take parts in this event. We thank the organization and, if invited, we will come back next time for sure.

A new shoe repair shop in Helsingborg
A new Crockett & Jones shoe shop and repair center, in the heart of Helsingborg, will open their doors from 8th of May 2007 on. Valued costumers from the South of Sweden can be welcomed to choose a new pair of traditonal shoes from the famous manufacturer of Northampton, England. The shop is equipped with the most state-of-the-art shoe repair machiney, exclusively built by Jos America from the Netherlands. Mikael Petterson went to Wiesbaden to compare the manufacturers. Mikael statet: "It was clear that among the 8 companies who offered shoe repair machinery, most of them only showed older technology from the last century, not showing any improvement.

Mikael continues: "The only real expection was the Dutch based company Jos America. These FLEXAM machines contain new technology and take the best out of experienced craftsmen. The machine comes with an external, quiet but very powerful dust extraction system, which filters the air several times before returning it into the shop again or replacing it with fresh outside air.. The machines are build in a logical working order, so the work can be done in a professional and rational manner. Tall or small, between 160 and 200cm, anyone can work on these machines without creating back injury problems. The machine can be changed into any operator length automatically. The new Widia scouring technique is one of the new features, that is really worth the investment itselfs. It not only saves hundreds of scouring belts in one single year, it works faster and cleaner. The metal roll of Widia is transporting the friction heath away quickly, so the shoe materials are not heated up as normally happens with normal scouring bands. The stincky blue air disappears from your shop. Further, believe it or not, the machine is equipped with sensors, so it sees if the operaters are working, and if not, the dust valves are automatically closed, leaving a smooth and gentle background sound. This allows the operater to communicate with costumers or collegues. As soon as works starts again, the FLEXAM machine is instantly ready to serve the shoemaker further".
